Online applications are due by Feb. 15 for the annual First Wind college scholarship awards to Central and Windward Oahu students.
The Boston-based renewable energy developer will award $3,000 one-time grants and a $5,000, four-year renewable grant to qualified seniors attending public or private high schools in Laie, Kahuku, Sunset, Waialua, Haleiwa and Wahiawa. The students must have a 2.75 grade-point average and plan to enroll full-time in undergraduate study focused on sciences, technology and/or engineering.
This is the fifth year the company has targeted Oahu communities where it has projects under way: Kahuku Wind and Kawailoa Wind.
